THE RAIN FALL EVEN IN A SUMMER, SO BOGOR IS CALLED A RAIN CITY

In this city, the rain fall even in the summer, that is why the peoples call the city as a Rain City. Above all, there are many places to visit for out door activities, Mount Climbing, Hiking and beach recreation.Curug Cilember is welknown for hiking and climbing in Bogor, Curug mean waterfalls, Cilember is a name of a place situated at Mega Mendung Puncak,A Hill and Mountain Resort on the way to Bandung.
Bogor is a sub district of West Java Province, located 60 km south of Jakarta, the town has grown around 18th century, is famous for its Botanical Garden(Kebun Raya) which covers area of 110 hectares founded in 1817 was conceived by British Governor Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles, it is “a museum” of more than 15,000 plants species from towering trees to an orchid house. Here still stands the original “Hevea Braziliensis” rubber tree brought from Brazil around the middle of the 19th century, and the world’s largest flower “Rafflesia” which is named after the British colonial administrator Sir Thomas Raffles who died in 1826.

The Bogor Presidential Palace was built by the Dutch Governor General in 1745 originally and restored in 1832, it lied inside the Botanical Garden area.
